Im currently an undergraduate in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Education in UCD, after achieving top marks in my Leaving cert exams in Higher level Maths, Physics and Applied Maths. With completing my exams, I have gained much experience in the format and overall requirements needed to achieve great grades in those exams and have experienced first hand what a great, or bad teacher can effect a students results.
I intend to broaden the students fundamental knowledge on these topics instead of just pure memorisation through the use of past questions along with my own past notes.
Students should feel confident when faced with the real exams after we practice exam technique, timing and overall problem solving skills. After doing grinds myself for the leaving cert I found that this was the most helpful learning objective of them all.
Throughout the Leaving cert I helped many classmates and friends with all sorts of Maths problems all the way up until the final exams. This gave me the pathway idea to become a teacher, hence my course choice in college. I believe that tutoring is my first step toward this goal.
My lessons aim to be in a relaxed and comfortable environment for the student as I think all students work better when they’re at ease. Any homework assistance, notes, or subject guidance in general are all offered within the class.
