MyGrinds Ireland provides an online tutor introduction platform (the “Platform”) that allows students and parents to connect with independent, self-employed tutors.

We facilitate introductions between students or parents and tutors. Our Platform service is separate from the tutoring services supplied by each independent tutor.
The introduction service is a one-off service, completed when we facilitate the agreed introduction. Any additional service we expressly agree to provide will be described in your confirmation. Completion of an introduction does not, by itself, make the conditional €40 platform fee payable.
These Terms and Conditions govern use of the Platform and our introduction service by parents, students, tutors and other users (“Users”, “you”, or “your”).
Using the website or submitting an enquiry does not, by itself, create an obligation to pay a platform fee.
Agreeing to Our Introduction Service
Before making an introduction for which a platform fee may apply, we will explain the fee, its conditions, the payment arrangements and your cancellation rights, and obtain your express agreement.
Your Platform agreement is made when you expressly accept the introduction service and applicable terms for the named student and we confirm that agreement. We will provide confirmation and a copy of the agreed terms in an email or another form you can retain before beginning the introduction service.
We will identify the person responsible for the platform fee in that confirmation. For a student under 18, a parent or guardian must enter into the Platform agreement and will be responsible for any agreed platform fee. Students aged 18 or over may enter into the agreement themselves.
We will retain a record of the agreement and the version of the terms accepted.
Using Our Website
By using this website, you agree to:
– Provide accurate, truthful information.
– Use the Platform only for legitimate educational purposes.
– Not copy, scrape or misuse content without permission, except where permitted by law.
– Not interfere with the Platform’s security, servers or technical operations.
We may suspend or terminate tutor accounts that violate these Terms, subject to applicable law and any separate agreement with the tutor.
Lessons and Tutoring Services
Tutors introduced through MyGrinds Ireland operate independently on a self-employed basis and are not employees, agents or representatives of MyGrinds Ireland.
We introduce students to tutors based on availability and suitability. We will provide our own introduction service with reasonable care and skill.
Each tutor is responsible for their lesson content and teaching methods.
Tutoring arrangements, lesson scheduling, tuition payments and the ongoing educational relationship are agreed directly between the tutor and the client. Your separate Platform agreement with MyGrinds Ireland covers our introduction service and any applicable platform fee.
Students and parents should provide accurate learning information so tutors can prepare appropriately.
Tutors may provide information relating to their qualifications, experience, subjects offered, availability, academic background and teaching approach through the Platform.
While MyGrinds Ireland reviews tutor applications, conducts interviews and considers information provided by tutors to assist with introductions, tutors remain responsible for the accuracy of the qualifications, grades, references, biographies, experience and other information they supply.
MyGrinds Ireland interviews and academically assesses each new tutor before approving their listing. However, we do not independently verify all information provided by tutors or guarantee the accuracy or completeness of all tutor profiles or representations.
MyGrinds Ireland does not represent that all tutors have been Garda vetted. Parents and guardians should assess tutor suitability and supervise lessons and interactions where appropriate.
MyGrinds Ireland does not guarantee specific academic results, examination outcomes, grade improvements or compatibility between tutors and students.
These statements do not exclude our responsibility for our own service, representations or legal obligations.
Communication Outside the Platform
Tutors and clients may communicate through WhatsApp, SMS, email, video-call services or other agreed channels.
Tutors remain responsible for their own communications and tuition arrangements with clients, including those made outside the Platform.
MyGrinds Ireland remains responsible for its own communications, introduction service, handling of personal information and platform-fee arrangements, regardless of the communication channel used.
Payments
Tuition Payments
Payment for classes is handled independently by tutors. Tuition rates, payment dates, lesson cancellations and refunds are agreed between the tutor and the client.
The €40 platform fee described below is paid separately to MyGrinds Ireland. It is additional to tuition charges and does not reduce the amount payable to the tutor.
Platform Fee for Parents and Students
Where you expressly agree to the fee before the introduction, a one-off €40 platform fee may become payable for the named student.
The fee is €40 in total, including any applicable VAT or other taxes. There is no upfront platform fee or recurring platform subscription charge.
The fee becomes payable if tuition introduced through MyGrinds Ireland has genuinely commenced and is still ongoing eight weeks after the student’s first paid lesson.
Eight weeks means 56 calendar days. A free trial does not start the eight-week period.
“Ongoing tuition” means that the student has begun receiving paid tuition and a continuing tuition arrangement remains in place. We will check the position before issuing an invoice. A referral, unanswered message or proposed lesson alone does not make the fee payable.
If tuition is paused at the qualifying point, we will not invoice while it is paused. If tuition resumes, we will confirm the position and any revised qualifying date with you before invoicing.
If tuition never starts, or all tuition introduced through us for that student ends before the qualifying point, no platform fee applies to that arrangement.
The fee is charged only once per student. After it has been paid, additional subjects, replacement tutors or further introductions for the same student do not attract another platform fee.
If an earlier arrangement ended before qualifying and you later request another introduction, we will explain and agree any new qualifying period before making that introduction. The fee remains limited to one payment per student.
We will issue an invoice once the agreed conditions have been met. Payment is due within seven calendar days of the invoice date. Payment methods will be explained before you accept the Platform agreement and included on the invoice.
You may stop tuition subject to the lesson-cancellation and payment arrangements agreed with your tutor. You do not have to continue tuition for eight weeks. Ending tuition after the platform fee has validly become payable does not, by itself, cancel that fee. Your statutory cancellation and refund rights remain unaffected.
This fee applies only to introductions for which it was disclosed and expressly accepted in advance. It does not apply retrospectively to introductions agreed on a free basis. Any fee exemption we agree with you will be confirmed in writing.
Cancellation of the Platform Agreement
Matching, Cancellation and the Platform Fee
Our service is a one-off tutor match and introduction. It is complete when an available tutor has accepted your tuition request and we have made the agreed introduction.
Starting straight away
For agreements made online, by phone or through WhatsApp, you normally have 14 days from the agreement date to cancel without giving a reason. Any longer period required by law applies.
If you want us to start immediately, we will first get your separate written request to begin and acknowledgement that your cooling-off right ends once the agreed match and introduction are complete.
With that confirmation, your cooling-off right ends when we complete the service, even if this happens within minutes of agreeing.
The Platform Fee
The introduction alone does not make €40 payable. The one-off fee only becomes payable if tuition is still ongoing at the eight-week point explained above. No fee applies if tuition never starts or ends before then.
You may stop tuition at any time, subject to your tutor’s cancellation and payment arrangements. Stopping after the fee becomes payable does not, by itself, cancel it.
Once your cooling-off right has ended, cancelling your Platform account or the completed matching agreement does not remove the fee obligation if tuition continues with the introduced tutor.
Your other statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.
Cancelling your Platform agreement does not, by itself, cancel a separate tuition agreement with a tutor. Please contact the tutor directly about any lessons you wish to cancel.
Platform-Fee Queries and Refunds
If you believe a fee has been invoiced incorrectly, contact
info@mygrindsireland.com and explain the issue. We will investigate and correct any mistake.
Where the agreed fee conditions have not been met, we will cancel the invoice or refund any payment collected in error.
If our own Platform service does not meet the standards required by consumer law, you retain your rights to an appropriate remedy, which may include having the problem put right, a price reduction or a refund, depending on the circumstances.
A platform-fee refund and a tuition refund are separate matters. Tutors handle refunds for their own tutoring services; MyGrinds Ireland handles its own platform fee.
Tutor Commission
Tutors remain responsible for paying commission to MyGrinds Ireland in accordance with the commission arrangements applicable to their account or separate agreement.
The parent/student platform fee is separate from tutor commission.
Failure by a tutor to pay commission when due may result in suspension or termination of their account or access to further referrals, subject to applicable law and any separate agreement.
Tutor Account Responsibilities
Tutors are responsible for:
– Keeping their login details confidential.
– Ensuring their profile information is accurate.
– Their use of their account.
If you suspect unauthorised access to your account, contact us immediately.
Intellectual Property
All logos, branding, design and written content owned by MyGrinds Ireland are the property of THE MGI ACADEMY LIMITED.
Notes and other educational materials created and owned by individual tutors remain the property of the tutor who authored them unless otherwise agreed.
You may not copy, sell, distribute or reproduce protected content without permission from the relevant owner, except where permitted by law.
Personal Information
We process personal information relating to tutor requests, introductions, agreement records, tuition-status checks and platform-fee administration as described in our Privacy Policy.
That policy explains the purposes and lawful bases for processing, relevant recipients, retention periods and your data-protection rights.
Limitation of Liability
MyGrinds Ireland does not guarantee specific academic results from use of the Platform or tuition provided by independent tutors.
Tutors are responsible for their own tutoring services. MyGrinds Ireland is responsible for its own Platform and introduction service and for obligations imposed on it by law.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for our own fraud, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Nothing excludes or restricts your statutory consumer rights, data-protection rights or access to legal remedies.
For tutors and other users acting in the course of business, we will not be liable for indirect or consequential business losses to the extent permitted by law.
Indemnity for Business Users
For tutors and other users acting in the course of business, and to the extent permitted by law, you agree to compensate THE MGI ACADEMY LIMITED for reasonable, evidenced losses directly caused by your fraud, unlawful misuse of the Platform or material breach of these Terms.
This does not cover losses caused by our own acts or omissions. It does not apply to parents or students acting as consumers.
Complaints
Please include your name, the student’s name and a description of the issue. We will acknowledge the complaint, investigate and respond within a reasonable time.
For a complaint about tuition, contact the tutor directly. You may also tell us about the issue so we can consider whether further introductions or account action are appropriate.
Our complaints process does not restrict your statutory rights or your right to seek independent advice or use available legal remedies.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time.
The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
A website update does not, by itself, alter an existing agreement or introduce a new fee. Changes to an existing agreement will be made only as permitted by law, with notice and express agreement where required.
