I’m a French tutor with many years of experience teaching students of all ages and levels, from complete beginners to advanced learners. I support Junior Cycle and Leaving Cert students with exam preparation, as well as adults and students learning French for personal, professional or simply for the pleasure of learning a language.
My approach focuses on genuine understanding rather than rote memorisation. I explain grammar and difficult concepts in clear, manageable steps, using examples, comparisons and analogies, and adapt lessons to each student’s level, needs and goals.
I place particular emphasis on speaking, as this is often the most daunting part of learning French. I create a relaxed, supportive environment where students can practise speaking, make mistakes and gradually build confidence.
I also use games and interactive activities, as I believe learning should be both effective and enjoyable. Lessons can focus on exam preparation, school French, conversation, travel, work, culture or simply the pleasure of learning a language.
Homework corrections, personalised notes, learning resources and guidance between classes are all included, providing students with continued support beyond the lesson itself.
