I’m a qualified veterinary surgeon with a strong background in biology, chemistry and agricultural sciences. Working with students at Junior, Leaving Cert and University levels, my focus when tutoring is on helping students to turn their understanding into exam marks – not just learning content but understanding how to apply it in an exam setting and to effectively structure their answers. Sessions are both structured and interactive while I focus on one topic at a time to break it down into simple steps and then apply it to exam-style questions immediately. I keep sessions interactive through having students explain concepts back to myself and working through questions together using screen sharing or e-whiteboard activities. Initially, I assess a student’s level, their goals, needs and where they’re currently struggling and then I tailor grinds to suit their individual requirements. Once a student understands how to structure their answers and to use the correct language their performance rapidly improves.
